Wordless Wednesday: Why yes, I AM quite dry
Author: Mama's Empty Nest
Mama of this empty nest, I’m content to live a quiet, country life with my husband of 40+ years and to view gorgeous sunsets off our own back yard deck. Mama to three adults and Nana to adorable grandchildren, my empty nest fills up again with noise and laughter when they all return 'home'. A former English teacher, reporter/editor, education director for a non-profit organization, and stay at home mom, I retired after a season of substitute teaching at a private academy. Now I enjoy time spent with my grandchildren and family and writing words that seem to pour out of my soul or wandering around the countryside with my camera. Foremost, my faith sustains me as I meander through the empty nest stage of life. My favorite scripture is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” View All Posts
Oh yes—been there as well!!! Maybe I should have put Buddy in the dryer to de-wax!

Amazing and delightful what they will do! Also, that’s why they need nine lives.

You’re so right! They DO need those nine lives for all of the situations they get into. 😀

This picture is too sweet. You never know where they are going to find a home. Glad you are friends.

She’s definitely a one-person kitty and she prefers our daughter, but when daughter was preoccupied with the new baby, Sasha did decide to make friends with me.

I’m sure you’ll hear all sorts of “kitty in the dryer” stories. My dear friend, Bev, lost one of her kitties when it got in the dryer without her mom knowing it. That would have just broken my heart.
Sweet picture!

I’ve heard of folks losing their kitties to the dryer…heartwrenching. Our Callie never climbed into the dryer but she would crawl into an open kitchen cabinet.

This is middle daughter’s cat, who at first didn’t seem to like me one bit. But after being with her so long helping with grandbaby, kitty got used to me. 🙂

My mother had a Siamese cat who used to try to crawl into the dryer with the warm clothes – there was a sign on the top of the dryer that read, “Always check for Mandy before closing the door!”

Oh, gosh, too funny! I’ve heard of cats doing that but our Callie never did that. This cute kitty is my daughter’s cat and she climbed in the dryer after I got the clothes out. I had to keep a watch on her, but I did shut her in the pantry one day!!

Cats can be stealthy. I’ve locked one of mine in the front hall closet more than once!
