Wordless Wednesday: stuck in the middle
Author: Mama's Empty Nest
Mama of this empty nest, I’m content to live a quiet, country life with my husband of 40+ years and to view gorgeous sunsets off our own back yard deck. Mama to three adults and Nana to adorable grandchildren, my empty nest fills up again with noise and laughter when they all return 'home'. A former English teacher, reporter/editor, education director for a non-profit organization, and stay at home mom, I retired after a season of substitute teaching at a private academy. Now I enjoy time spent with my grandchildren and family and writing words that seem to pour out of my soul or wandering around the countryside with my camera. Foremost, my faith sustains me as I meander through the empty nest stage of life. My favorite scripture is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” View All Posts

Yes, it was a DOUBLE YIKES for me. Glad hubby was at the wheel as we were quite sandwiched in. :-O

Cincinnati? I’m glad when I visit I do not drive. I-75 going over the bridge from Kentucky into the city is scary. Good photo from the front windshield.

I agree, it’s a little daunting. I have driven that bridge, but usually my husband does the driving there. When I took this photo, we actually were on I-75 on our way to Jungle Jim’s. Have you ever visited that gigantic market when you’ve been in Cincy? Food from all over the world. It’s an amazing place.

Nothing like big rigs on each side to make you realize how small you are! Not my favorite place to be!

Boy, that’s for sure!! You feel so minuscule surrounded by them!

That is a creepy place to be.

Yep, a bit unnerving. But I was actually stuck in a worse one driving through Chicago years ago. I might have to blog about that experience.

I’d love to hear about it.

I’ll have to add it to my ‘list of things to blog about!’ 🙂

The entire time I was deliberating over a title for this one, that old song, “Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle with you.” So I had to go with stuck in the middle — ha!

I am unnerved by being trapped between two semis like that. That’s why George does all the highway driving. Yay for George!

I don’t mind highway driving too much, but when traffic is heavy like this was, I’m a little nervous too. My hubby was driving this time thankfully! Yay for both our hubbies!!

And we were just inching along for about 30 minutes or so in this Cincinnati traffic which made it seem so much worse to be stuck in the middle.
