Wordless Wednesday: Bounty of blueberries

Mama of this empty nest, I’m content to live a quiet, country life with my husband of 40+ years and to view gorgeous sunsets off our own back yard deck. Mama to three adults and Nana to adorable grandchildren, my empty nest fills up again with noise and laughter when they all return 'home'. A former English teacher, reporter/editor, education director for a non-profit organization, and stay at home mom, I retired after a season of substitute teaching at a private academy. Now I enjoy time spent with my grandchildren and family and writing words that seem to pour out of my soul or wandering around the countryside with my camera. Foremost, my faith sustains me as I meander through the empty nest stage of life. My favorite scripture is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

  1. “What are these I think I Know..
The grower’s house is in the village though.”

Seem to be quite a handful, ready to be immersed to make a Blueberry pie I suppose.

    1. Hello, Shakti. Thank you for visiting my blog and I appreciate you leaving a comment. This blueberry grower’s house is in the country. Alas, I am not much of a pie baker so these blueberries will not find themselves in a pie. But they are dressing up our morning bowls of cereal and even pancakes, and they will be baked into a blueberry cobbler. All delicious. 🙂

  2. Straight off our bushes in the yard. I love them and they are good for you too! Our strawberry patch didn’t yield as many strawberries this year as we normally get. Not sure if the cause was the late frost we had over Memorial Day weekend, the excess of rain, or wild critters (we chased a wild turkey out of the patch) but my kids are disappointed because there are only a few jars of homemade strawberry jam this year.
