Wordless Wednesday: fall surprise
Author: Mama's Empty Nest
Mama of this empty nest, I’m content to live a quiet, country life with my husband of 40+ years and to view gorgeous sunsets off our own back yard deck. Mama to three adults and Nana to adorable grandchildren, my empty nest fills up again with noise and laughter when they all return 'home'. A former English teacher, reporter/editor, education director for a non-profit organization, and stay at home mom, I retired after a season of substitute teaching at a private academy. Now I enjoy time spent with my grandchildren and family and writing words that seem to pour out of my soul or wandering around the countryside with my camera. Foremost, my faith sustains me as I meander through the empty nest stage of life. My favorite scripture is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” View All Posts
Hail is shocking anytime but especially when the grass is still green and there are leaves on the trees. I’ve never seen such closeups – great pixs.

Oh my! I’m waiting for some dryer air and maybe a high in the 70’s but that is not icy goodness!

It wasn’t even chilly that day which is why it was so odd. Thankfully, the hail storm didn’t last long.

Wow – we usually have hail in the spring!

Same here! At first we didn’t know what was hitting our windows and French door because we didn’t even consider that it was hail. Then when we looked out — voila! Hail!

Oh, that’s not exactly the kind of surprise that I’d like!

That storm blew out as quickly as it blew in. Thankfully, the hail was not golf ball sized or we might have had some damage. It was more like marble sized. Still a shock though!

It disappeared just as fast as it appeared! Just a little stormy pocket which seemed to settle over our house. :-O

Yikes! That’s no surprise. That’s called “Shock.” Great photos by the way. 🙂

You said it! It was a shock. Even more so for oldest daughter’s fiance who was driving back home from our house when he got caught in it. Just a couple miles down the road….no hail at all. Sunny skies. Strange.
