As I await the joyous sunrise of Resurrection Sunday, I remember when I was a young girl anxious to celebrate Easter. My mother and I always wore an Easter corsage to church, often a delicate orchid.
I took these photos of beautiful flowers at an orchid show a couple of years ago. Each time I view these pictures, they remind me of Easter.

“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!” ~ Jesus Christ in Luke 12: 25-28

These are really impressive photos. I like the lighting and angles. Especially on the second one!
Thank you for visiting my blog and also for the nice compliment! I’m just an amateur but I do love taking photos.
Your very good at it.
We always had an Easter simbidium corsage for my MIL. Beautiful photos, happy memories.
Happy memories for sure! I have some more orchid photos I’ll have to post some day from that orchid show. The flowers were simply stunning. Have a blessed Easter!
Happy Easter to you. We never wore corsages on Easter; your orchid photos are beautiful.
We were corsages to church for two occasions – Easter and Mother’s Day. It was a sweet custom that not many people do any longer. Happy Easter!
Oh, yes – a red rose for Mother’s Day if your mother was still living – a white one if she wasn’t. My mom always wore red when her mom was living, but never wore a rose after her mom died….
Yep, that’s it! Red for mother still living, white if she was gone. I kinda miss those days when little things had meaning and people dressed up more for church or special occasions.
So many things have changed….and not all for the good!
There used to be a tiny exotic orchid breeder we used to go visit. The shop was built off the side of his house and the flowers were very unique. They were so gorgeous to look at.
I remember we always got all dressed up for Easter Sunday. We went to church every Sunday, but Easter Sunday we all had on our best spring clothes and almost always had brand new Easter bonnets.
How neat! Orchids are so interesting I think. I have some more photos of them that I need to post sometime. Your Easter Sunday memories are much like mine. We also dressed up in our best outfits and Easter bonnets and gloves too!
